    Job Title: Hotel Supervisor

    Location: Kamuli, Uganda

    Reports to: Hotel Manager

    Role Purpose

    The Hotel Supervisor is the bridge between management and the frontline staff. You will ensure that every department—from the kitchen to the guest rooms—operates at peak efficiency. This is a hands-on role requiring a leader who is ready to lead by example and maintain a high-quality guest environment.

    Expanded Responsibilities

    1. Staff Coordination & Real-Time Leadership

    Task Allocation: Assign daily duties to cleaners, waitstaff, and receptionists; ensuring every area of the hotel is covered.

    Supervision: Monitor the pace of service in the dining area and the turnaround time for laundry and room cleaning.

    Problem Solving: Act as the first point of contact for staff issues or technical glitches (e.g., power backup, water issues) during your shift. 

    2. Quality Assurance & Facility Standards

    ❖Rigorous Inspections: Conduct detailed daily checks of all occupied and “ready” rooms to ensure they meet AAPE’s standards for hygiene and comfort.

    ❖Maintenance Logs: Identify and report any breakages or maintenance needs (faucets, bulbs, painting) immediately to prevent guest complaints.

    ❖Inventory Control: Supervise the usage of cleaning supplies and guest amenities to minimize waste and prevent theft.

    3. Guest Service Excellence

    ❖Guest Arrival: Oversee the check-in process to ensure guests feel welcomed and informed about hotel facilities.

    ❖Issue Recovery: Address guest complaints on the spot with a professional and calm demeanor, ensuring no guest leaves dissatisfied.

    ❖Local Expertise: Assist guests with inquiries about Kamuli and surrounding areas, providing a knowledgeable and helpful presence. 4. Reporting & Compliance

    ❖Shift Handover: Prepare detailed shift reports for the Manager, noting any unusual incidents, guest feedback, or maintenance requirements.

    ❖Safety: Ensure all health and safety protocols are strictly followed by both staff and guests.

    ❖Expanded Qualifications & Requirements

    ❖Education: Minimum of a Diploma in Hotel Management or any related field.

    ❖Experience: Proven experience in hotel or hospitality operations. We value candidates who have a “track record” of improving service speed or cleanliness in previous roles.

    ❖Leadership Skills: Must be firm but fair, with the ability to command respect and motivate a team under pressure.

    ❖Customer Service: Exceptional interpersonal skills; you must be a “people person” who genuinely enjoys hosting.

    ❖Efficiency: Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously—balancing administrative duties with active floor supervision.
